Why hello there!

Grab a cuppa goodness and head somewhere cozy. Let’s visit.

I’m a southern girl, born and raised in Tennessee. I grew up on beans and cornbread, Southern gospel music, and the fervent prayers of my Memaw. In 2001, a friend invited me to join her for the summer to work at a bed and breakfast in Alaska. I had never flown before, but that younger version of me (Gosh, I’m proud of her!) loaded a plane, and I’ve been here since.

Who knew that one decision would affect so many areas of my life? That summer I met my hunky husband and now I’m homeschooling our four Little Women on the Kenai Peninsula here in Alaska. Well, make that three. My oldest graduated this last year and is now on to other adventures.

I enjoy tea parties. Peonies. Vintage music. Old books. Baking. I’m a writer-speaker-artist-musician with a knack for finding beauty everywhere I go. I love to laugh, and my greatest delight is knowing I’m a child in God’s house. This is my virtual living room, the place I share real-life stories and encouragement, with a focus on beauty and truth.

Here, I’ve assembled some of my most popular posts with reflections on beauty, creativity, resilience, and faith. Take a look and if you like what you see, consider bookmarking this spot so we can stay connected.

Welcome!
