I am every age I ever was
Every stage rolled into one
A toddler, a child, a teen
And forty something years into the scene
I’ve managed to keep a
Wide eyed wonder at the world.
I’m easily intoxicated
With music
And beauty
And laughter of littles
All because
I decided that simple things would bring delight
And they do.
I am every age I ever was
Every stage rolled into one
And even though I’ve had my share of broken
Broken dreams
Broken plans
Broken heart
I just swept up the pieces and made art
Mosaics are quite the fashion
In a life like mine
It’s quite sublime
To repurpose those once useless shards
Into beauty,
My favorite.
I am every age I ever was
Every stage rolled into one
And behind these eyes
Lies
An untold story
And if you knew what I’ve been through,
Or even just half, say
The first twenty years
You’d feel less lonely I think
We could sit and share a drink
We’ve all had our share of
hard moments this year
Such is life,
We take the good and bad,
The blessed and broken
And offer them both up to God
With thanks.
